The Greens have returned three councillors to Ashfield Municipal Council after the recent elections. All wards showed a marked increase in the Greens vote. Returning councillor, Mark Rerceretnam, had an outstanding 65% improvement on his previous vote. Our new councillors, Lyall Kennedy and Patrick Kelso, also benefited from the improved overall Green vote. No doubt assisted by the work of the outgoing Greens councillors Lance Dale and Mary Hawkins. In the North Ward, which the Greens were contesting for the first time, Selene did an outstanding job to gain 16.5% of the vote; marginally short of that required to get a fourth seat on Ashfield Council.
